The Chicago Blackhawks have two first-round picks, one at #2 and the other at #18. While it’s going to likely be the pick of either Artyom Levshunov or Ivan Demidov at number two, who could they take at that 18th spot or potentially trade up a few more spots to snag?
The NHL draft is fast approaching. In exactly 19 days, we’ll finally have answers to the many questions surrounding this draft, where nothing is guaranteed, apart from Macklin Celebrini’s selection at number one.
Ivan Demidov of Sergiyev Posad, Russia is perhaps one of the most intriguing players of the 2024 NHL Draft. Demidov was born on December 10th, 2005, and clocks in at 5’11” with a lighter weight of 168 lbs.
In a few weeks’ time, the top prospects in the 2024 NHL Draft will know which Bettman organization has drafted them. At the moment, Macklin Celebrini may be the only one who really has a good idea of where he’s going, but the rest are probably in the dark.
Two of the most popular names for the Canadiens in the upcoming draft are Cayden Lindstrom and Ivan Demidov. Both guys aren’t Macklin Celebrini and aren’t perfect candidates, but they’re still big hockey players who can be game-changers for their next team.
In just over three weeks, all 32 NHL teams will gather in Las Vegas for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The Anaheim Ducks have the third pick in this year’s draft, where they will have a choice between a few high-end prospects.
Barring a reversal of fortune, Ivan Demidov will be drafted in the top five at the upcoming NHL Entry Draft. He is seen by many as the 2nd best forward in the next draft, behind Macklin Celebrini… And that’s why the Russian’s absence is the talk of the NHL combine, which is currently taking place in Buffalo.
Some cities are renowned for their gastronomy, others for the large-scale events – musical, sporting or cultural – that are held there. Buffalo boasts the NHL combine every June.
How does one analyst project Ivan Demidov at the NHL level?
A year ago, heading into the 2023 NHL Draft, scouts and media raved about the forwards it contained, and rightfully so, as it was stacked with high-end talent.
Welcome to the eighth installment of our "Names To Know," 2024 edition, a look-ahead at prospects who the Columbus Blue Jackets could select in the upcoming NHL Draft.
For weeks, everyone around the Canadiens has been wondering whether Kent Hughes would consider selecting Russian forward Ivan Demidov in the fifth round of the upcoming draft.
Last year, the Canadiens had the #5 pick in the draft. We suspected it was a pivotal pick because, in order or disorder, it was pretty clear who was going to be chosen in the top-4.
In an ideal (and realistic) world, the Montreal Canadiens would see either Cayden Lindstrom or Ivan Demidov slide to #5 in the next draft. That way, they’d emerge from the auction with one of the top three forwards in the draft.
It seems that the Philadelphia Flyers are going to be getting their guy pretty soon. Might this be yet another clue as to how the Blackhawks will choose when they’re picking second overall?
The 2024 NHL Entry Draft will be here before we know it, so it’s time to start looking at who the Blue Jackets could pick with the fourth overall pick on Friday, June 28.
There’s a ton of hockey talent in Russia. Every year, there seems to be one Russian forward that gets scouts throughout the hockey world out of their seats exclaiming “Wow, that kid is good!” Last year, there was Matvei Michkov.
After the huge Matvei Michkov saga in 2023, we’re back with another dilemma surrounding a young Russian player: Ivan Demidov. If his name were Yvan Demidove and he were from Quebec, there would be fewer questions about him.
Recently, there’s been a lot of talk in Montreal about Ivan Demidov. He’s seen by many as a logical top-three pick in the upcoming draft… But as my colleague Charles-Alexis Brisebois explained earlier today, there’s a good chance the Russian could slip to No.
Now that the draft lottery has come and gone and we know the draft order for the top-16 picks in the first round, as well as the winner of the first overall pick, I wanted to do a quick top-16 mock draft.
In a few weeks’ time, the Canadiens will have the fifth-highest draft slot. It’s the first time the club has drafted this high since… 2023, when David Reinbacher was selected fifth overall.
If the Montreal Canadiens are indeed aiming to be in the playoff mix for next season, they have quite the summer ahead of them. It may have been another 28th-place finish for the Canadiens this season, but the progress was notable; giving general manager Kent Hughes the necessary data he needs to make some big changes.

Could Matvei Michkov’s SKA St. Petersburg teammate, Ivan Demidov, become an even better prospect?
The left-shot winger was excellent at the most recent Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, scoring five points in five games despite being younger than most of his competition, and will now make his professional debut months before he even turns 17.
